December 16, 2010This edge repair took place at the Lowes parking lot in Cary, North Carolina. There was a pothole on the edge of the drive lane, next to the curb, leading to a sub shop and a Starbucks. Bagged EZ Street was used to patch the hole in three lifts. Each lift was hand tamped and then further compacted with the truck's tires. The entire repair only to about 15 - 20 minutes. A lot of people think of cold mix as a winter time product, but on a day like this where it was 100°, the EZ Street cold asphalt is much easier product to work with. If the crew had to use hot mix it would have been 400° at the repair site.
