No matter how well you execute a road repair, sometimes Mother Earth shifts and churns, or, in this case, sags, right beneath your work. For Gary Dodt of Clark County’s Highway Department, the sagging caused their culvert pipe to sink a few inches, bringing the road above down with it. But, they knew just how to fix it.
They simply added another layer of EZ Street asphalt—breaching the rim with a one inch lip—then, compacted the asphalt level with the surrounding road, and...well, that’s it. The culvert pipe repair was complete—and they didn’t even have to stop traffic.
