Dear Tom,
On behalf of the Councillors and the citizens of Toowoomba I would like to thank you for your kind and generous donation towards the Toowoomba Regional Council recovery effort. We have all been deeply touched by the care and concern from so many across Australia and overseas.

The unprecedented rain event and consequent flash flood has caused some difficulties for many families and business owners across the city. It has also been particularly difficult for the families who have lost loved ones.

The damage to homes, businesses and infrastructure is expected to take many months to repair and will cost millions of dollars. However, the citizens of Toowoomba have remained resilient and have shown great community spirit. It was very encouraging to see hundreds of citizens not only generously donating money and goods, but volunteering to help their fellow citizens who were affected by the disaster.

Once again please accept our appreciation for your generous donation.
